Signed a MOU with the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong:

The Rajan Dental Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the field of Continuing Dental Education and Advanced Training with the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong on 29th March 2005.

Inauguration of Rajan Cleft & Cranio-Facial Foundation

Rajan Cleft & Cranio-Facial Foundation was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. N. Samman, Director, Hong-Kong Cleft Unit on 5th Dec. 2005.

More than hundred patients have been operated on successfully at Rajan Cleft & Cranio-Facial Foundation for primary and secondary cleft lip and palate deformities.

Facio-Maxillary Surgery Centre:

A Modern multi-disciplinary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery facility was officially opened by Dr.Robert B.Maclntosh, on Saturday, 25th of November 2006 at the Rajan Dental Institute, Mylapore, Chennai.

Prof. Dr.Robert B.Maclntosh, Director, Maxillofacial Surgery Centre, Henry Ford Hospital, University of Detroit Mercy, U.S.A. Former President, American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery inaugurates Maxillo-Facial Surgery Centre and operation theatre complex. Alongside is Prof. Dr. R. Gunaseelan, Maxillofacial surgeon and Medical Director, Rajan dental Institute.

Inaugration Of Teddy Teeth Clinic:

Teddy Teeth is a comprehensive paediatric dental clinic. It is an initiative from Rajan Dental Institute.

Prof Nigel. M. King the Chief Guest of the day and honorary consultant of "Teddy teeth" inaugurated the facility. Dr. King, B.D.S (Lond), M.Sc (Lond), Ph.D (HK), LDS RCS (Eng), Hon FDSRCS (Edin), FHKAM (Dental Surgery), FCDSHK (Paediatric Dentistry) is the Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at University of Hong Kong and The Prince Philip Dental Hospital. His research interests include tooth anomalies, Fluorosis and developmental enamel defects, Management of Cleft lip and palate in children, Dentine bonding agents.

Nobel Biocare Fellowship Convocation:

Rajan Dental Institute is the recognized Centre for the Nobel Biocare Fellowship Implantology Training Program. Till date three batches are completed and the fourth in running. Number of participants in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th batches were 11, 9, 11 and 8 respectively.

Convocation for the 3rd Batch of Nobel Biocare Fellowship Program was organized at Savera Hotel, Chennai on 1st February 2008.

FACE 2008:

Rajan Dental Institute organized a National level continuing education program 'Face 2008' on February 9th and 10th '2008 at Southern Railway Hospital, Chennai. The theme was 'Orthognathic Surgery' for correction of facial deformities. The program was supported by AOMSI (Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India).


‘Face’ was the brainchild of Dr. Varghese Mani, Trichur & later Dr. Kishore Nayak, Bangalore & Dr. R. Gunaseelan, Chennai joined him to form a team which was the driving force in organizing various FACE workshops in different parts of India. The first day was dedicated to live surgical demo on 4 patients with dentofacial deformities. The second day was dedicated to lectures on Orthognathic surgery by eminent Professors. The attendance was about 124 participants from all over the country. It included PG students and young oral surgeons.
