For over forty years at the Rajan Dental Institute, we have been specialising producing beautiful smiles. Apart from this, we offer a comprehensive dental treatment, combining the latest sophisticated technology in dentistry with years of experience and expertise, providing an array of services carried out in a sterile environment.
An Advanced Implant Centre
Ours is a multi-system oriented Implant Centre with
- Internationally acclaimed implant systems such as Branemark, Nobel Biocare and Zimmer
- Sinus lift and Bone grafting techniques
- Zygoma implant technique
- ‘Teeth-in-an-hour concept’ (where implants and artificial teeth are fixed in 1 hour)
- Computer based planning and 'Nobel-guide' technique
- Implants to support facial silicone prosthesis including prosthetic eyes, nose and ears
Digital Panoramic and Cephalo-metric X- Ray Unit (Planmeca, Finland)
Through this equipment, we are able to get more accurate images with less X-ray exposure that can be magnified, electronically stored and even transmitted through the Internet. This also does away with the use of any hazardous chemicals.
Ceramics and Metal-Free Crowns
Aesthetically speaking, these crowns are the best and have the advantage of being 'metal-free'. This helps avoid any ‘scattering’ in subsequent CT scans of the face and head.
Conscious Sedation Clinic
We believe that relieving anxiety in patients is as important as relieving pain. We use the very popular conscious sedation technique, where patients are given midazolam intravenously in the dental chair by an anaesthetist. The patient is calm and can communicate with the dentist throughout the procedure.
This is very useful for apprehensive patients and for patients who require prolonged treatment. Highly qualified anaesthetists and modern monitoring equipments enhance the comfort level and safety for the patients.
Ceramic Brackets
Ceramic brackets are typically clear or tooth-coloured. They are used in adults who want to minimize the visibility of their braces.
Lingual Orthodontics
Lingual braces are placed behind teeth in contrast to metal or ceramic braces that are applied to the front. They are a cosmetic alternative to those who otherwise would not consider treatment. Initially, the tongue might get sore but discomfort reduces as the treatment progresses.
‘Special Need’ Patients Clinic (physically and mentally challenged individuals)
Differently enabled adults and children need general anaesthesia, even for simple procedures. Our paediatric dentists are also trained to handle children and adults with specific motor co-ordination issues and difficulty in comprehending instructions. The operation theatre in our centre is fully equipped with CE certified equipment and a panel of qualified anaesthetists adept at treating such patients.
Distraction Osteo-genesis
"Distraction osteogenesis" was used to treat defects of the oral and facial region in 1990. Since then, surgical and technological advances made in the field of distraction osteogenesis have provided Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with a safe and predictable method to treat selected deformities of the oral and facial skeleton.

Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are used to close gaps, straighten and improve the shape and colour of teeth, to give you the smile you have always wanted. Porcelain veneers are ultra-ruins, natural looking and provide an excellent long-term solution for many cosmetic problems.
Wafer-thin shells of porcelain are bonded onto the front side of teeth and are an excellent cosmetic solution for teeth that are stained, chipped or slightly mal-aligned. Compared to composite veneers, porcelain veneers look more natural and they do not stain. As a disadvantage veneers are fairly expensive, prone to breakage, and cannot be patched or repaired - once broken, replacement is the only alternative. On the other hand, the main advantage is that only minimal tooth substance needs to be removed to bond a veneer onto the tooth surface, making it the first choice when correcting minor irregularities or the colour of any front teeth.
Radio Visiography (RVG) X-Ray Unit
We use Digital Radiography (RVG) to enhance imaging accuracy and reduce radiation exposure. This supports electronic data storage, enables the transmission of data through e-mail or media, making possible, Telemedicine.
Rapid Prototype machine (Z Corp, USA)
With CT/ MRI data, this machine produces accurate life size replicas of facial skeletons, which is very useful in planning complex facial surgery especially for severe deformities and post-traumatic deformities. These models are made of a special type of starch, making it possible to do mock surgeries on these. Very few such machines are available in South East Asia.
Intra-oral Camera
This provides instant high quality intra-oral pictures, useful for patient education and motivation.
Apex Locator (PROPEX)
It is a diagnostic tool helpful in the determination of duration of certain procedures. This has many advantages -
- Results in a higher quality of obturation length (filling) control.
- Overall reduction in the number of radiographs taken.
- Helpful in conditions were radiographs cannot be taken (pregnancy)
Patient Dental Records (PDR)
At RDI, Patient Dental Records (PDR) Maintenance is fully computerized using the latest software & systems, beginning with the registration stage itself. These are fully networked across all clinics & specialities, which allows immediate retrieval.
